At Marcus, we saw how good Flower Mound is -- the girls and the boys team. Coach Cook is cooking up some good stuff over there and this weekend it showed. He had two girls and two boys place in the top 11 helping lead both teams to wins. The Flower Mound boys were able to live up to their preseason ranking and the girls upended Keller for the second straight race and the first 5K, making it official that they are the ones to beat this season.
With the performing teams throughout the state from last week's action at this meet, it is clear that both Jaguar squads are the teams to beat at this time.
Individually, it was Ashlyn Hillyard winning her second straight Marcus I title and Graydon Morris taking the win on the boys side over a deep field.
Hillyard outlasted several of top girls in the state to reel in the top time in the state. Morris also topped a studded field with many of the best guys in the state as well as nationally ranked runners.
