BOLD NXN Qualifying Predictions From NXR South Regional

Championship Boys Top 5 Teams

1. El Paso Eastwood - 215 points

2. Southlake Carroll - 236 points

3. Flower Mound - 238 points

4. The Woodlands - 243 points

5. Katy Tompkins - 301 points

El Paso Eastwood could be the best team in the state. Last week, they proved they were tops in 5A, but if they want to shock the world, it will start tomorrow with a win. They have the ability to run tight and they have the most experience in the field for running big and packed races. Their runners should finish in a hurry and in the late 30s to the late 40s and at worst the early 50s.

As with the girls race everybody else is running for one spot. The SLC boys have been capturing one of the qualifying spots more than any other Texas program. For them to continue their NXN streak, they will have to fend off the 6A champs - The Woodlands and the dangerous Flower Mound boys. The race will come down to who can make he least mistakes in the race and who runs the cleanest.

The individual race should come down to the last mile. I envision at least a pack of 15 - 20 through two miles. I see Schoppe, Cheeseman, Fischer, Maier, Gomez, Knight, and Kirk, Dowd and more really enforcing a serious pace the last mile seeing who has gas left in the tank for the finish. The ability to close and the best kicks should decide the order top 15 - 20 finishers.
