This season, we will bring you a series of quick tips for track and field events. The tips will air on Tuesdays and will be known as Tuesday Tips.
There will be a wide range of tips covering field events like shot put, long jump, pole vault and more. The forth coming tips will also include events on the track in the sprints, hurdles, middle distance, as well as distance events.
This initial tip comes from coach Will Collins who coaches high school, collegiate, and post collegiate athletes in his camp that he calls Fast University.
Collins' tip focuses on the starting blocks and improving the placement and force of the foot in the back block to improve force applied to help the push out of the blocks. This could enable a faster start and possibly a faster time in the sprinting events.
