The 15 Most Impressive Performers Of The 2019 Indoor Season

Natalie Cook

The Flower Mound freshman opened up much like her teammate Alex Maier with a win in the Texas A&M High School Indoor Classic 2 Mile. Cook started her first high school track season with a 10:51.59 leading many XC state meet qualifiers.

Cook followed that performance up a week later with a win at the Carl Lewis Invitational. This time, her win was more dramatic than the previous one. Cook lost her shoe early on in the race and ran the majority of the 3K distance without it. She would block out the blisters forming on her foot and out kick the competition for the 10:01.17 win. Two big victories in a row for a freshman really is big time.
