Boys Region 3-6A Prelim Heat 2
The Houston area is loaded with 4x400 relay talent. The 2018 season saw four H-Town area teams run 3:12 and under, eight total teams run under 3:16 and 27 teams run 3:20 or under.
At the Region 3-6A meet, there were some heated battles just to make the final. Heat 2 was a clear example of that. Alief Taylor had a quartet of guys who were running with a purpose all year long. That purpose was to avenge the result of the state finals the year before where they were disqualified at state for a lane violation in the last 5 meters of the race. That DQ saw them lose out on a medal they were certain they earned and deserved.
This race began with them having a large lead, but a tough Kingwood team that has a history of running quality 4x400s battled back.
The Alief Taylor anchor ran for the win and made a statement in the last 100m. This is an ending you won't want to miss!
