Clash Of The Titans!

This weekend, we saw two battles of elite athletes competing heads up. That's how track and field is supposed to be right?

Although, we are still in February in this short  2019 outdoor season,  we saw this weekend that there is no hiding from the heat, especially in Texas.

This week, we chronicled the  Katy Seven Lakes Relays 100m boys race before it happened as we were made aware of who was going to be running in it.

It was so loaded, that we even accidentally overlooked one of the main players in the race. Ryan Martin, Devon Achane, Lance Broome, and Bryson Stubblefield are all talent sprinters with superior speed. The race didn't disappoint as we saw times we weren't even expecting to be that fast.

By now, surely you've seen the video and or heard of the times. Martin won with a 10.42, Broome was second in 10.64, Achane third in 10.67, and Stubblefield fourth in 10.72.

However, across town, there was another battle going on and it included two of the top quarter milers in Texas.

At the Will Taylor Relays, Katy Cinco Ranch and Cypress Woods were getting ready to go at it in the 4x400m relay.

Their anchor legs consisted of Moyo Oyebamiji (46.77 PR) of Cinco Ranch and Sebastian Cooper (47.35) of Cypress Woods. It was just last week that we saw Cooper put in a very good anchor leg effort to try to get his team the win. He was unable to do so, but he had another opportunity in week 2.

The first three legs from both teams made the race possible and then the crowd got to watch the show. Oyebamiji got the baton first and Cooper's exchange was a few meters after that setting up the battle.

Cooper made up the deficit in no time setting up a full all-out sprint to the finish line to decide the leader. This week, it is surely going down once again somewhere in Texas. We have one meet and at least one race from there that we have in mind and we will definitely let you know of the next race that will be another Clash of the Titans.
