We highlighted this race as one to watch at the Katy ISD Bubba Fife Relays. We mentioned that there could be three to run under 38 and the potential was there.
Only one runner dipped under 38.0 and that was your new TX #1 Clayton Keys from Katy Tompkins. Keys took a loss last week to then top ranked 300H Garrett Carswell of Kingwood. This week was the rematch and it was every bit as exciting as it was billed to be.
Both guys were battling stride for stride and hurdle for hurdle until the last barrier. Keys took the hurdle well but Carswell was unable to do the same this time around. Two weeks in a row this match up has produced the top ranked time. There could be at least one more match up before the Region 3-6A race at the Victor Lopez Classic with these two outstanding hurdlers where more fire works could fly. We'll definitely keep you posted!
