WATCH: Taylor Banks Makes His 2019 Debut At 100 Meters

The top returning 100 meter sprinter in the country, Miramar's Taylor Banks, returned to the track this weekend at the Miami Hurricane Invitational, winning in a wind-aided 10.50 (+2.2).

Banks finished the 2018 season with a best of 10.26 (+0.9) at The Great Southwest Classic -- where he finished second in the race to Anthony Schwartz, who ran 10.09 seconds.

But if Banks wants to maintain his title of 'The Fastest Prep at 100 Meters In 2019,' it won't come easy.

So far, here's how the national leaders at the distance break down

  1. Matthew Boling, Houston Strake Jesuit (TX), 10.22 (+1.3)
  2. Tyler Owens, Plano East (TX), 10.29
  3. Seneca Milledge, Fort Myers Dunbar (FL), 10.34
  4. Cameron Anthony Miller, Dallas Bishop Dunne (TX), 10.35
  5. David Bynaum, Cameron Yoe (TX), 10.41
