Folston Splits 53.23, Cocoa Runs 3:43.05 to Win at FL Relays

The Cocoa HS girls dominated the 4x400m final at the Florida Relays this weekend.

The group of middle distance athletes showed out running a US no. 2 4x400m time of 3:43.05 to end the weekend with USC signee, Jatana Folston, anchoring the relay with a 53.23 split.

Cocoa took the win over fellow 2A competitor, American Heritage, who finished in another smoking time of 3:45.65 with a closing split of 55.51.

Looking forward to the 2A state finals, it will be an interesting battle between Cocoa, American Heritage, Hallandale, and Godby in the 4x400m.

Cocoa's 53 second anchor split gives the Tigers confidence heading into the state series of their depth and talent in the event. If they have another strong performance like this weekend, they will be the ones to beat come State. Heritage will put up a fight with four very strong 400m athletes and if they can get their anchor leg below that 55 mark during peaking season, it will be a close race between the two teams.
