Meet Entries: Parra Law Eastwood Cranks Up El Paso Area XC

The entry list tells it all.

The past, the present, and the future of the El Paso metropolitan running community all take part in the Parra Law Eastwood Community Road Race 5k & 1.5 mile.

The youngest entrants range from 6 years old and the oldest reach up to 62 years old.

Former runners from the area will compete this weekend. Big time blast from the past names like Arambula, Chavez, Armijo, grace this year's field. Last year's winner, Daniel Bernal was even a name from the recent past that came back to grace the race with his talent.

For the high school scene, this year's race will be highlighted by the boys entries once again. The current high school stars that will take the line are Rene Arambula (San Elizario), Juan Olmos (Eastwood), Ofir Ortega (Tornillo), Elias Perez (Eastwood), just to name a few.

All four of these guys are El Paso area leaders as well as UIL state meet medalists. For the past four years, things kicked off with this very meet and each one of them ended with a team state championship for the area.

Last year, ended with several team and individual state meet qualifications, another team state championship, the first Nike Cross Nationals team qualification and another individual qualification.

Cheers to another outstanding El Paso cross country season and again, it all begins tomorrow at Album Park.
