Cross Country enters season ranked #4

ABILENE – The Abilene Christian men are fourth in the 2009 preseason US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll as release by the organization. The Wildcats are also ranked first in the south central region poll that is also released by USTFCCCA.

The first poll of the preseason is similar to the way 2008 ended with the top five teams staying unchanged as Adams State enters the season number one followed by Western State, Chico State, Abilene Christian, and Grand Valley State. The South Central Region has the Wildcats at one followed by Southwest Baptist, Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State. Fellow LSC members Texas A&M-Commerce and Tarleton State are ranked fifth and seventh respectively.

The Wildcats open their season this weekend as they travel to Anchorage, Alaska to participate in the Great Alaska Stampede on Saturday September 5. The men's team for Alaska Anchorage enters the season ranked 15 while the women enter the meet at numbers nine.
