Lovejoy Steeple Clinic And Pole Vault Meet


Registration is closed for the Lovejoy All-American Steeple Clinic. Along with the Lovejoy Texas Express Holiday Invitational, the event will be held on December 14, 2019 at Lucas Lovejoy High School. 

The steeplechase and the pole vault are two of the fastest growing events in track and field as well as two of the highest improving events in USA track and field.

Don't miss the chance to observe and participate and get clinical instruction and demonstration in the steeplechase from All-Americans and Olympians.

Lovejoy All-American Steeplechase Clinic

Come learn from All American Steeplechase Athletes. This clinic will serve as a single event specific clinic focusing solely on the the steeplechase. The clinic will be informative and hands on for athletes. Both coaches and athletes are welcome to attend.

Actual demonstrations and practice of steeple barrier work will be at the LHS Track/LHS Indoor facility depending on weather.

Presenters Rebeka Stowe (Current Nike Running coach NYC. former All-American/Olympic Trials Qualifier) and Billy Nelson (Current Asst. Coach Colorado/Former Olympian/NCAA Champion) will give classroom setting instructions and demonstrations at the water jump. There will also be a skype Interview with Olympian Shalaya Kipp on current Steeplechase research. 

Coaches who bring 3 or more athletes can attend for free. Please register so that we have a head count of total clinic participants.

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Session 2 - Training for the Steeplechase / Skype Interview with Olympian Shalaya Kipp on current Steeplechase research. 

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Session 3 -Steeple Barrier Work/Technique

3:00 PM - 4:00 PM Session 4 - WaterJump Work/Technique

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM Session 5 - Dinner

Lovejoy Texas Express Pole Vault Holiday Invitational (Indoor)

Lovejoy High School and Texas Express Pole Vault Club will team up again to put on their annual holiday pole vault invitational. Many of the top pole vaulters in Texas will get their competitive season started early as this will begin a string of indoor meets across Texas as well as nationally for the event.

Some of the top nation leading vaulters have competed at this meet in the last several years. It is destined to be another great event for both athletes, spectators, and lovers of the event. There will be two pits and runways simultaneously hosting competition. Bring your your own chairs for seating and arrive early for the best seats in the house.

Session 3: Men's Bronze (8' 0" Opening Height) / Women's Silver (8'0" Opening Height)
