WATCH: DeSoto Girls Blitz A 45.16 4x100 Relay

DeSoto runs a US No.21 All-Time 4x100 Relay with a 45.16 at the Lancaster Meet of Champions

The Lancaster Meet of Champions is appropriately named. There were many state meet champions battling it out for early 2020 track and field bragging rights.

The South Dallas squad of the DeSoto Lady Eagles entered the meet as the four time defending UIL 6A team  state champions. They also showed how dangerous they already are this year when they ran not only the fastest time in the state or nation, but a time that could stand up for the rest of the year....except for if they surpass it themselves.

Their 45.16 is a time that has only been matched on 21 other occasions. They tied the 2018 DeSoto squad who also ran 45.16.

Last season, DeSoto ran the fastest two 4x100 Relay times ever by a girls high school team. At the Region 1-6A Championships, they ran 44.44 to set a new National Record. Two weeks later, they followed that up with a 44.24 to lower that National Record and take the UIL State meet record.

On Friday, at the Lancaster Meet of Champions, DeSoto later ran a outdoor US No. 1 4x200 Relay mark with their winning 1:36.91time.
