WATCH Dylan Sequeira Run A 4:19 PR in 1600m Time Trial

Like everyone in the state and nation, Magnolia junior distance runner, Dylan Sequeira lost his 2020 outdoor track and field season to COVID-19.

It was unforeseen, tragic, epic, and unusual circumstances the pandemic brought on the sports world and the entire world. However, that did stop Sequeira from doing what he has come to know to do and how to do it. In fact, he has found ways to do it better and faster.

As a sophomore, Sequeira started rising beyond the local levels to the state's top level. He establish himself as a runner that was looking to affect the state finals. He qualified for the 2018 UIL 5A state cross country championships and then followed that up in the Spring when he qualified for the state track meet in the 3200m.

He followed that up this junior season with another cross country state qualifying berth. All arrows were pointing to another fabulous track season as Sequeira was really looking to make his effects felt at the state meet.

We all know how that outcome was deferred, but it didn't stop Sequeira's drive to improve and his development. This weekend, he ran a 1600m time trial and that produced a 4:19 PR and shows his arrows are still trending upwards.
