South Texas RGV Boys To Watch This Track Season

Wiliams Macias - PSJA Memorial

Macias took the throne at Memorial after former teammate Cruz Gomez graduated. In his first year as the lead man at Memorial, Macias continued to run well and qualified for the state meet.

Taking the RGVCCCA Meet of Champions and the UIL 5A - District 31over some of the other top RGV runners put Macias in a good spot to maximize on his junior season. He ran well at the UIL State Cross Country Championship placing 55th with his 16:o3.84 in the 5A race.

Before COVID, he was able to go undefeated all spring and was able  to drop a 9:26.64 3200m PR with his win at the Mercedes Knights of Columbus Relays.

Macias established himself arguably as the distance runner in the RGV last year. He may be primed to do it again this cross country season.
