Freshman Allie Love Gets Another Win - 18:04 At Falcon Fast

Colleyville Heritage entered the 2020 season following a strong year in 2019 and they return one of the state's top runners. Now they add an impactful member to an already strong group.

Heritage qualified for the UIL 5A state meet last season and finished 13th overall. With five of their top seven returning, the addition of freshman Allie Love will give them a big 1-2 punch with senior and All-State runner Felisa Saheib.

Love added her third win of the young 2020 season yesterday at the TIMBER CREEK FALCON FAST INVITE. She ran 18:04 this weekend in her first high school 5k, that adds to her already superb and fast times this year. Her strategy for her first 5K race was simple, "get out fast, stay with the pack and apply pressure," Love said.

She showed signs of how much potential she had with a 10:49 3200m time trial on the track back in August. Now, the news is out and there is no need to fact check; with this race on record, Love and her Heritage teammates proved they will be major players this 2020 cross country season.

Sometimes, it takes young runners a moment to get the overall picture, but Love joined a talented group and she has the basics already figured out. "It feels really good, if we keep training hard, my team and myself, we can go to state."
