Evan Caswell's 14:58 Helps Coppell Win Close Boys 6-6A Race

Any doubts about Evan Caswell and the Coppell boys should be laid to rest.

Caswell proved to be a legit UIL 6A boys individual contender and his Cowboys are team threats. A great morning provided to die for racing weather, a fast course (legit 5K), and the end of the season urgency that made a perfect day to race.

Caswell took the early command during the race and pressed a hard pace from the onset that would see other runners eventually back off and focus on the team battle. Coppell, Flower Mound, and Hebron were in a three team battle that was runner for runner for the most part.

In the end, it was Coppell flexing their muscle as they came out with at 63 point score for the win followed closely by Flower Mound in second with 65 for the second qualifying position.

The Hebron boys ran a near perfect race, but fell just short with a 69 point score in the dreaded third place position for the 2020 season.

Caswell, Coppell, and Flower Mound will now brace for a Region 1-6A battle that will potentially place them against Americas, Eastwood, Southlake Carroll and others top state championship contenders.
