MileSplit TX XC Inv - Perennial Arkansas State Champs Slated

Athletes compete at the 2019 MileSplit TX XC Inv. hosted by Denton Guyer

The perennial Arkansas state champion Bentonville girls and boys cross country teams have registered for the 2021 MileSplit TX XC Invitational hosted by Denton Guyer.

Bentonville has been dominant on courses all across the state of Arkansas throughout the 2000s. They will head to the MileSplit TX XC Inv. with three consecutive Arkansas state champions on the girls and four consecutive on boys sides.

A Bentonville squad has won an Arkansas state cross country title every year dating back to 2008 with the other team finishing in the top three (except 2013 when the girls finished fourth).

This is the second out of state state championship team to sign up for the 2021 MileSplit TX XC Inv.  Claremont HS, a top California program over the last several years has also signed up to compete in Denton this year. With the exception of the 2020 cross country season that was basically wiped out by COVID, the Claremont girls and boys have won each CIF D2 state title dating back to 2016.

Earlier this week, we mentioned how some of the top teams in the state of Texas have already registered to compete. The UIL 5A boys state champion and girls runner-up Grapevine, UIL 4A 2018 - 2020 girls state champions Canyon, 2020 UIL 3A runner-up Valley View, UIL 6A 2015-2018 champions and 2019 runner-up, and 2020 third place boys and 2020 third place girls from The Woodlands, and the 2020 UIL 5A third place team Colleyville Heritage are all signed up.
