We Will WINSday: William Dunaway Is On A Winning Streak

Early in the season, William Dunaway came close to getting wins, but just wasn't quite putting things together. However, the Austin St. Andrews junior has now figured it out  and is on a two week winning spree.

Two weeks ago, he captured a win at his home meet, the St. Andrews XC Invitational and this past weekend, he added the HaysCISD XC Invitational to his list.

Not only is Dunaway on a winning streak, he also has a streak of lowering his time in three consecutive races. He went from 16:16.60, to 16:10.00, and now has a new PR of 16:01.70 PR after last weekend.

The junior has the SPC No. 3 ranked time in the 5,000m and could be looking at taking the next step up a level in his running. He currently sits behind Emmanuel Sgouros of Houston St. John's (15:13) and Sahil Dodda of Dallas St. Marks (15:29) who are both two of the best in Texas.

Next year could be the year for Dunaway and a chance for a SPC state title, but the way things are looking this year might be the most important as he continues to drop his time and collect wins.
