Jesus Escamilla-Camargo Is On The Rise - Again

When you think Texas high school cross country and some of the best distance programs, nothing screams louder than West Mesquite.

Well maybe it doesn't scream it, but what Coach Tara Yeater and her staff have been building is taking off and has been producing some good runners. Their current project, Jesus Escamilla-Camargo is proving that case.

Last year, Camargo caught fire during the championship season and finished well at the UIL 5A state cross country meet with a 15:47.06 PR. This season, he has caught fire once again just ahead of championship season.

He went 15:36 two weeks ago at the Mesquite XC Invitational and then last week improved to a 15:33 PR at the Jesuit XC Classic where he finished in third place ahead of some top distance talent.

Listen to how Camargo feels about the rest of his season and his chances of running to the podium at the state championships.
