Leander Senior Jace Poole Hopes Improvements Lead To State

Like every athlete who hasn't qualified for the UIL State Cross Country Championships, Jace Poole in on a quest to do just that.

This is neither a dream nor a hope, but it has more been like a goal and a motivating factor for Poole.

The Leander senior has committed his time and efforts to improving as a runner and this is his last opportunity to make it happen.

Last year, Poole also felt he put the work in and that he made the necessary improvements. However, the weather conditions and elements in Corpus Christi overcame him during the competition and he wasn't able to perform like he knew he was capable of doing.

Tomorrow, Poole and the other Region 4 competitors are all familiar with what they face and they'll do what they can to disable factors out of their control to have negative effects.

Athletically, Poole is in the best fitness of his high school career. He has run just about every race faster than last year and is a consistent sub 16-minute 5,000m performer.

Watch the interview and listen to how Poole plans to approach tomorrow's UIL Region 4-5A Championships.
