COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS -- Katy Seven Lakes sprinter Haley Tate was back in her signature event on Saturday.
Dialing back into the 400m, by race's end Tate owned the U.S. No. 1 time of 53.98 with her performance at the Texas A&M Bluebonnet High School Invitational.
It was the third-fastest performance of her career.

Tate took off from the gun and pressed the pace around the entire track. With a headwind on the homestretch, her fitness and ability to keep her form were the only challenges for the Lady Spartan.
