As a freshman last season, Charis Andrews (Grapevine Faith Christian) finished fourth overall in the 5A TAPPS State Championship XC meet. A soccer player by trade now learning how good she can be in both sports, Charis finds herself in a unique position that she cherishes: leader.
With a young team, Charis will be looked upon to not only finish near the top once again, but also to mentor the incoming freshmen and to help motivate those returning. Coach Rodriguez acknowledges her rising star is a "rock star," not only because she's enjoyed cross-country success as a freshman, but also because she's a wonderful soccer player, is involved in several non-athletic activities at her school and is consciously aware of her teammates' importance to building a program.
