A win at the Texas A&M Bluebonnet long jump competition earned her a position in the poll. She achieved the win in College Station by going for a meet record and TX outdoor No. 1 jump of 20-3.50.
Cavitt also had to beat stiff competition in the poll. Natalie Murray (Hudson) was another extremely high vote getter by receiving 9,051 votes for the second most. Gloria Granderson (Prosper) had the third most votes with 675.
