Blazing FAST 200m
The Boys 200m was fantastic across the state. Tanook Hines (Spring Dekaney) is back - - The 2024 UIL 6A 200m runner-up is shedding some football weight and turning on the jets one last time before heading off to Southern Cal (USC) to begin his time as a Trojan wide receiver.

Other blazers like Kendrick Jones Jr.(Lake Belton) went 20.71, Tate Taylor (San Antonio Harlan) ran 20.74, Justin Stewart (Fort Worth Arlington Heights) went 20.91, and Swayde Griffin (Lago Vista) continues to prove he can run with or without the hurdles in his way.

Throws
Adam Carter Katy talks after 2025 Texas Relays discus
Adam Carter (Katy) continued his outstanding season and even better week. The Katy Tiger was third in the discus at the Texas Relays and won the shot put. Carter's numbers in Austin were superb (68-0.50 and 191-8), and are good signs for his return trip to Austin next month.
Despite being just a few days later, his throws at the UIL 6A - District 19 were even better as he threw a whopping 68-10.50 and 195-5.75. There doesn't look to be much slowing him down at the time being.
Kyen Purser (Midlothian) wasn't messing around with his discus at the UIL 5A - District 15. He threw a personal best, elite 201-8 toss.
Jumps
Jayden Thrower (Mont Belvieu Barbers Hill) wins the triple jump at the 2025 Nike Indoor Nationals
Jayden Thrower (Mont Belvieu Barbers Hill) continued his impressive 2025 track and field season. In his last three meets, he has jumped 50-2.27. 49-3.75, and now 50-0 at the UIL 5A - District 19.
Etoro Bassey (Katy Tompkins) is enjoying a grand season, much like Thrower is. He cleared a new personal best bar of 7-2 at the UIL 6A - District 19. He has three 7-feet clearances with this year of 7-0, 7-1.50, and now his 7-2.
Micah Lockett (Nacogdoches) also went 7-0 to win the UIL 5A - District 10. Don't expect the junior to settle for a fourth place finish again at this year's UIL 5A state meet.
