As the track and field season continues, it ends for many of the younger UIL athletes and their individual adventures.
Some of them are continuing their journeys as are the private and parochial school athletes.
Check out the list below and see the who some of the younger athletes who just might be the top dawgs in the near future.
Kennedy Jackson-Myles (Duncanville)
Yes, Duncanville continues to reload, if you can consider it reloading by addition subtraction. Their freshman, Jackson-Myles (pictured) has a 11.67 (+2.3) from the Texas A&M Bluebonnet High School Invitational and even though like much of Texas meets, most of her meets don't have wind readings, Jackson-Myles hasn't run over 11.94 once this season.
With a second place in the 100m of 11.78 at the UIL 6A - District 11, look forward to Jackson-Myles' area performance.
Chizaram Stephens (Richmond George Ranch)
I've been waiting to place Stephens on any of these lists just because I wanted to see her with wind legal marks. That might not happen until the Region 3-6A meet, so I didn't want to delay things any longer.
Stephens is a legit speed demon. Her youth track and field days show a long list of elite marks from the 100m through the 400m. This year, the George Ranch freshman has only run over 11.70 seconds once and 24.70 is her slowest 200m run of the season.
Individually, Stephens could really start to explode now that we are in the qualifying rounds of the UIL season.
Kenedy Card (Rockwall)
In many years, we see Rockwall athletes participating in multiple events and Card is another one of them. She qualified for the UIL 6A state cross country meet and this spring she has not only competed in the 2,000 steeplechase, but she has long jumped, triple jumped, and the 300-meter hurdles.
However, Card's premiere event looks to be the 800m. She won the UIL 6A - District 10 and should be qualifying to the Region 2-6A championships. Of her five races, she only has one race over 2:19 and has run as fast as 2;14.89.
Caroline Barrow (Katy Taylor)
Barrow is an amazing talent and I don't think we've yet come close to seeing close to her potential. Barrow is an extremely talented soccer player, so she has shared time with the track and cross country teams during their seasons.
Barrow won the UIL Region III 2A-6A Cross Country Championships and had three sub 18-minute 5Ks on the season. This spring, she has added PRs of 57.50, 2;12.40, and 5:05.40. She'll compete today in the 800m and 1,600m at the UIL 6A 19-20 area championship after winning both at the UIL 6A - District 19.
Morgan Olschewsky (Plano)
Olschewsky is another athlete who competes in multiple events and has some very nice results in all of them. However, she is excelling in two of them specifically.
The Plano frosh has a 56.11 personal best in the 400m from the Marcus Steve Telaneus Invitational late last month. Her primary events looks to be the 300-meter hurdles where she won the UIL 6A - District 06 championship. Here 43.43 PR will carry her into today's area meet.
Dani Jo Fleitman (Lindsay)
Fleitman is the type of track and field athlete who is a hurdler/jumper combo athletes. There are many who do that and the Lindsay frosh races both the 100-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles. She also competes in both horizontal jumps.
However, Fleitman is shaping into one of the best vertical jumpers in the state. She cleared 5-9 at the UIL 2A - District 13 meet last week and just cleared 5-8 yesterday at the UIL 2A - Area 13 & 14.
