NORMAN, Okla. -- The ACU men's and women's track and field teams added three more provisional qualifiers over the weekend as the Wildcats competed at both the Nebraska Tune-Up and the Sooner Indoor Open.
The Wildcats enjoyed their most success on Friday at the Nebraska Tune-Up at the Devaney Center.
The ACU men's and women's teams combined to pick up two provisional qualifiers for next month's NCAA Division II indoor championship meet and also saw five athletes combine to win six events.
On the women's side,
Anais Belledant won the mile with a provisional qualifying time of 4:58.24, while
Amanda Clemons provisionally qualified in the long jump with a sixth-place finish and mark of 32 feet, 8.0 inches.
Wanda Hutson has already provisionally qualified in the 200 meters, but she won the event Friday with a time of 24.75 seconds.
On the men's side, the Wildcats didn't pick up any new qualifiers in Nebraska, but did see three athletes win four events, including multiple-event winner
Ramon Sparks.
Sparks won both the long jump (23-10.00) and the triple jump (52-8.00) for the Wildcats.
Amos Sang won the 5000 meters in 14:28.27 while
Desmond Jackson won the 60 meters in 6.82 seconds.
At Oklahoma on Saturday, pole vaulter
Landon Ehlers was the only new Wildcat to post a qualifiying mark as he won the vault with a provisional qualifying mark of 16 feet, 3.25 inches.
Nick Jones won the shot put with a mark of 55-4.75, which is a better provisional mark for Jones.
