2025 UIL 4A boys 100m
When he stepped onto the track for the 4A boys 100m final, George Stenberg (Fredericksburg) was not considered one of the favorites to win the title. Less than 11 seconds later, he walked off as the newly crowned State champion.
Even with 20m remaining in the race, Stenberg was still outside of the medals as Cedric Ross (Lubbock Estacado), Creed Whisenhunt (Sulphur Springs) and James Hicks (Waxahachie Life) were running stride-for-stride, but Stenberg came through in Lane 4 to edge all three at the finish line.
Stenberg crossed the tape in 10.52, a big personal best. Ross came through in 10.57 and then Whisenhunt and Hicks came through with identical times out to the thousandth, 10.587. It was judged that Whisenhunt was the third place finisher
