2025 UIL 2A Boys 4x200 Relay
The 2025 UIL Boys 2A 4x200-meter relay delivered an electrifying race as Tioga lived up to its billing as the pre-race favorite, clocking an impressive 1:27.63 to capture the gold. Coming in with the top regional time of 1:27.87, Tioga wasted no time asserting dominance, pulling away early with a strong first leg and maintaining that advantage through smooth baton exchanges. Positioned in lane 6, they stayed composed even as Big Lake Reagan County, right next to them in lane 5, mounted a fierce challenge.
Mason, lurking just behind, emerged as a surprise contender thanks to a stellar third leg and timely surges on the curves, ultimately slipping into second with a time of 1:28.07. Reagan County, despite a hard-charging anchor leg, could not quite close the gap on Tioga and had to settle for third, crossing in 1:28.13. Bremond ran a solid race to finish fourth in 1:29.26, narrowly ahead of Wellington, which clocked 1:29.28.
The race was clean and fast, with Tioga's monster anchor leg sealing the deal and preventing any last-minute upsets. As predicted, Mason snuck into the silver position, while Reagan County completed the podium in a tightly contested finish. This race not only matched the pre-meet expectations but delivered a showcase of speed, teamwork, and perfectly executed exchanges.
