2025 UIL 1A Boys 100m
Jordan Gutierrez (Iredell) and Ry Reed (Gordon) put on a show in the UIL 1A Boys 100m dash. Gutierrez was fresh off his wind-aided 10.22 performance at Regionals while Reed is the defending State champion.
Reed got out to a quicker start, but Gutierrez was on him in a flash and two ran stride-for-stride to the finish line. Neither runner knew who won and it went to the video and it showed that Reed edged out Gutierrez for his second straight title. Reed won in 10.47 and Gutierrez claimed silver with his 10.48.
Jeremiah Wakefield (Cherokee) grabbed third place as he crossed the line just ahead of Cannon McGee (Lamesa Klondike) and Miles Colunga (Garden City).
