Bayleigh Minor just completed her high school career in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools league. Her Fort Bend Christian journey began four years ago and what was a blank slate quickly began to fill.
The 2025 TAPPS Track and Field State Championships concluded with Minor tied with Taylor Nunez from Universal City Randolph for the most Texas championships history with 16 gold medals a piece. Additionally, she added two silver medals along with two bronze for a total of 20 individual and the most decorated prep athlete in TAPPS and Texas track and field history.
Her career wasn't just the beginning, but it was a continuation of legacies that were already cemented years ago. Parents, Deon and Claudia both had successful high school, collegiate, and post-collegiate careers that preceded hers. Olympic and World Championship success was accomplished, but in Bayleigh's premiere event, the 400m she ends high school as one of the best female runners Texas has ever seen. As a prep athlete in Paris, Texas Deon Minor ended as the top Texas boy quarter miler at the time. He still sits in Texas' top 10-all-time in the event.
Deon was a multiple NCAA Champion and won World Championship gold medals in the 4x400 relay including a world record. Claudia Minor (formerly Claudia Haywood) also was a NCAA Champion and competed on the World Championship scene.
