Sam Houston's Morgan Davis and Danielle Ordonez placed third and fourth, respectively, in the heptathlon at the North Texas Classic multi-events meet Thursday and Friday April 8-9.

Courtney Lueders of SHSU was 11th in the competition with a 2,676 total.

Davis totaled 4,305 points and Ordonez 4,295 in the final standings. The two totals rank seventh and eighth in the Southland Conference so far this year.

Kim Strong of UT-Arlington won the event with a 4,382 total. Aleesha Mullen was the runner-up at 4,326.

Ordonez (26.42) and Davis (26.66) finished first and second in the heptathlon 200 meter run. The pair were second and third in the long jump and first and fourth in the 800 meters.
