A. J. Edwards won the long jump with a leap of 24 feet, 5.75 inches and Chris Gilchrist took gold in the triple jump with a mark of 50 feet, 7.25 inches to highlight action for the Bearkats.

Curtis Patterson (23' 9") and Henry Jordan (23' 5.5") finished second and third behind Edwards as Sam Houston dominated the long jump.

Scottie Jones finished third in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.48 seconds. Edwards also placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 49 feet, 8.25 seconds.

Ambra McCuin, Jordan Heggie and Christina Webb led the Bearkat women.

McCuin (39' 2.5") was third in the triple jump, Heggie (14.29) placed fourth in the 100 meter hurdles. Webb posted three top 10 finishes, finishing fourth in the shot put (43' 10.75"), sixth in the discus (134' 6") and eighth in the hammer (140' 5").

Other top 10 finishes for Bearkat men included Matt Stephenson (1:54.72) and Roger Rueweler (1:55.78) fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 800 meters and Johnson fifth in the javelin (188' 2").

Other top 10 finishes for Sam Houston women included Kristi Hermes (11' 11.75") and Shelibe Zotyka (11' 5.75") seventh and 10th in the pole vault; Folashade George (57.14) eighth in the 800 meters; Sara Collazos (12:21.30) and Kylie Fitzgerald (12:23.71) sixth and seventh in the 3,000 meter steeplechase; Courtney Haggard (18:54.08) ninth in the 5,000 meters and Alyssa Dooley (4:54.70) 10th in the 1500 meters.
