Reid Named National Coach of the Year

James Reid
Angelo State University head women's track coach James Reid has been named the 2010 NCAA Division II National Women's Head Coach of the Year for Outdoor Track & Field by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

In May, Reid led the Rambelles to their first-ever NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field national championship at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, N.C.  This is the second consecutive national honor for Reid as he also won in 2009 after leading the Rambelles to a runner-up finish at the national meet.

ASU assistant coaches Tom Dibbern and Gary Gabriel were also honored by the USTFCCCA.  Dibbern has been named the National Women's Assistant Coach of the Year and Gabriel was tabbed National Women's Coach of the Year.

Senior heptathlete Aisha Adams was named NCAA Division II National Women's Field Athlete of the Year earlier this week by the USTFCCCA.  She won the heptathlon competition at the national meet and placed in the long jump, high jump, triple jump, 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles.  She was also part of the Rambelles' All-American 4x100-meter relay squad.
