Wildcats set to run in Missouri

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The ACU men's cross country returns to action Friday at the Central Missouri Mule Run, covering the same course that they will compete on at the NCAA Division II South Central Region championship meet in late November.

The men's four-mile race will start at 6:45 p.m., the last event of the day at UCM's Keith Memorial Golf Course.  Besides ACU and Central Missouri, other men's teams entered in the meet are Dallas Baptist, Missouri Southern, Southwest Baptist, Benedictine and Westminster College.

ACU was ranked 10th in the region in the pre-season, according to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association poll, while Missouri Southern was ranked fourth and Central Missouri seventh.  Tarleton State was ranked No. 1 in the region to start the season.

The Wildcats  got their season off to an impressive start last week as they finished second at the Baylor Bear Invitational, scoring 50 points to team champion Baylor's 29 points.  Senior Amos Sang of ACU was the individual winner with teammate Cleophas Tanui finishing third.
