Sang Honored by USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Friday, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the Region Athletes and Coaches of the Year for the NCAA Division II indoor track & field 2011 season. Abilene Christian senior Amos Sang continued to add to his accolades as he earned the South Central Region honor for the second consecutive year.

Sang a senior from Eldoret, Kenya, scored the top-ranked time in the 5,000 meters during the regular season at 14:05.82. Sang who will be competing at next weekend's NCAA Indoor National Championships also posted the third best time in the country in the mile. 

This fall Sang was honored by the USTFCCCA as he was named the South Central Region Cross Country Runner of the Year as well. ACU and Sang will compete next weekend in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Division II NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
