Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, and children of all ages, I welcome you to the 2018 Texas Outdoor Track season!!! Despite travel and communication being easier in 2018 than ever before, we are still routinely denied of some of the most desirable head to head matchups in track and field. (Tuohy vs. Lane anyone?) In Texas especially, we're routinely denied of these battles as it'd take 10 and a half hours for a Houston team to go to a meet in El Paso, 5 hours for a San Antonio team to go to a meet in Dallas, and 4 hours for a Dallas team to go to a meet in Houston.

Instead of Sitting, Wishing, and Waiting for these matchups to happen, I've decided to seek the immediate gratification that a millennial track fan such as myself deserves.

So which Texas metroplex is gonna be Better, Faster, Stronger?

After the field events,  Houston is dominating the boys and girls events. However, as often is the case in Texas,  city wide dominance will most likely come down to the relays. Will Dallas close the gap with Houston in the boys or girls races ? Can SA-ATX and South Texas fight their way back into contention? Lets head back to the track for the running events!!!

The finals scores are in and the tents are going up. Houston utterly dominated the boys meet while Dallas came back from nearly 50 points to crush the competition on the girls side. Our virtual meet is over but questions are already popping up for our next edition... Was Houston just the beneficiary of a meet heavy week? Are San Antonio/Austin talking with El Paso and South Texas about joining forces for the next edition? Will Desoto and The Woodlands secede and from Dallas and Houston to take on the rest of the state? How much Meatloaf do you wanna see in our next playlist?  Feel free to show your city pride in our
forums and as always stay tuned to TX Milesplit for all your track and field needs!
