Will we see new UIL 3A champions for both girls and boys?
The East Bernard girls have won three straight and well, the Luling boys have won close to a decade worth of championships consecutively. They haven't lost a state title since 2009.
Are both squads in jeopardy of having their streaks ended? We will only know when Saturday rolls around.
On the girls side, there are a ton of quality teams around to make things interesting, but the Yoakum and Blanco look to be the biggest challengers.
On the boys side, popular belief is that Luling is in trouble this year. While they have graduated several key cogs to their recent state championships, they still have some juice. Tornillo, Eustace, and Pollok Central are all strong. Tornillo has been the runners-up the past seasons, but they were surprisingly beat at their Region 1-3A meet.
Just like the 1A and 2A meets, the UIL 3A meet will be a dandy! See how the virtual meet says things could play out.
