The 2018 cross country season was a good one for many runners across Texas. A lot of last year's top individual talent is returning for the 2019 season.
Several state champions along with runners with national championship experience will ensure that 2019 could be the best season in several years.
In that group of returners are four boys starting the season who dipped into the 14s last season. This past track season could be an indicator that we are in for an outstanding fall cross country season.
Of the top 50 5K returners, 13 boys ran 9:20 and under in the 3200m on the track with Ryan Schoppe dropping a 8:52.73. Fifteen of the top 50 returners ran 4:20 and under in the 1600m with seven boys going 4:15 and under and two sub 4:10s.
Check out the top cross country boys coming back this year and how they performed on the track last spring.
