Both the team and individual race for the UIL 6A girls cross country championships will provide the kind of cross country excitement we love the sport for.
Southlake Carroll will come into the meet having defeated the best teams in the state at the Region 1-6A meet. They did so with a 18:01 three mile team average and a 47 second 1 -5 split to total up a mere 48 points.
They'll have to fend off Coppell, the defending champions who ran a close second to Carroll at the region meet. They had a 18:08 team average with a 49 second 1 - 5 split and are looking to one up that this weekend.
Flower Mound, who had been running at a top level all season long was third at the region 1 meet. They will bring their A-game to Round Rock with hopes of jumping two spots from the region to get the title
The individual race will look nothing like what we expected when the season began. Two talents who have national and international experience between the two are out with injuries. However, the depth of talent in Texas is plentiful.
