East Ridge junior Ashley Miller has decided to skip her senior season, graduate early and enroll at the University of Texas. Miller, who transferred to Florida from Colorado this year and recently won the 4A state championship in both the 100 and 300m hurdles will join fellow Floridian Teahna Daniels, one of the top sprinters in the country, as members of the Longhorn's 2015 recruiting class.

Daniels is the reigning 1A state champion in the 100 and 200m and one of the top sprinters in the country!

First Academy senior Teahna Daniels had a junior season to remember in 2014. Daniels scored major wins at the Texas Relays, Florida Relays, and then at the 1A state championships where she won both the 100 and 200 meter dash. She finished first at the Golden South Classic and followed that up with a runner-up finish at the Adidas Grand Prix Dream 100 in New York City, and ended her year with a personal best 11.31 and third place showing at USA Juniors. Recently, Daniels announced her college decision to run for the University of Texas.

The University of Texas Longhorms made history at the Tyson Inviational setting a Collegiate/World Record running 9:25.97. Miller (Katy, Texas) ran the 1,200-meters in 2:54.11 before exchanging with the second leg, Fortson (Fort Worth, Texas), who rounded the track twice in 46.90 for the 400-meter segment. Milers Manzano, Felnagle return to New Balance Collegiate Jack Pfeifer Jan 29, 2008

    The best college milers in the business – Leo Manzano of Texas and Brie Felnagle of North Carolina – will be back to defend championships at the 2008 New Balance Collegiate Invitational, to be held at the Armory Feb. 8-9.     Manzano, a senior, ran 3:59.08 to win the mile a year ago, setting up his NCAA championship in the event for the Longhorns a month later. Outdoors last year he was 2nd in the NCAA 1,500 in 3:37.48 and 2nd at the national championships in 3:35.29. He was outdoor NCAA 1,500 champ as a freshman in 2005.FULL STORY HERE 

UT Men\'s Track and Field captures second Big 12 title Alex Aldaco Feb 26, 2006

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Texas turned an early day-two deficit into a commanding lead Saturday, as the Longhorns powered their way to their second Big 12 team title at the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Nebraska\'s Devaney Sports Center. Texas took top honors with 127 points while host Nebraska placed second with 100 points. UT claims its first Big 12 indoor title since 1999 and ends Nebraska\'s stretch of consecutive Big 12 titles at six seasons.

Coming off an All-America freshman season, sophomore Marshevet Hooker is looking to take it up another notch in 2005. The San Antonio native has already recorded a provisional qualifying time in the 60 meters and won a 200 meter race with a time just .07 behind her personal best.
