Adams honored by USTFCCCA

Angelo State senior Aisha Adams had one of the best national meets in school history for the Rambelles last week and has been awarded at the National Female Field Athlete of the Year for NCAA Division II by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Adams, a native of Covington, Tenn., was a seven-time All-American for the Rambelles last week's NCAA D-II National Championships and helped spark ASU to its first ever national title in the sport. Adams claimed the individual title in the heptathlon for the second straight season and added All-America finishes in five other individual events and was part of the Rambelles' All-America 4x100-meter relay squad.

In addition to her title in the heptathlon, Adams added a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, placed third in the long jump, fourth in the triple jump, fifth in the high jump and sixth in the 100-meter hurdles.
