Being only a sophomore, Matthew Kearney is one of the youngest individual qualifiers (only 3 sophomores so far) for NXN South on the guys side. Kearney like many other individuals was undefeated this year up until the Region 2 meet where he placed 12th to move on to state. In his second state meet performance he finished 72nd. Placing 7th overall at NXN was a big rebound for one of the nations best sophomores. Earlier this year he was named one of MileSplit US's ASICS Future Stars. He will also be racing Foot Locker this weekend.
