The Southlake girls took the NXN South title this year scoring 78 points. They beat out 6A state champs Marcus, for the title. This race was extremely close and only came down to 20 points separating 1st-4th and only eight points between 1st and 2nd. This race the south lake squad was lead by junior Gillian Mortimer who placed 16th. In almost every race this year Southlake has had a different font runner. They have a very versatile squad with each runner being able to step up when needed. This time around it was Sara Odneal who stepped up big for Carroll finishing 2nd for the team in 21st. The Southlake girls squad has a long standing tradition of making it to NXN having made it eight out of the 11 years the meet has been held.
