JaEra Griffin was the winner of last week's Female performer of the week after she ran what was at the time a U.S. #1 mark of 55.79 to win her heat of the 400m prelims. She was unable to compete in the finals tough due to the fact that she's only in 7th grade. The time still ranks as one of the best in the country, and it will be interesting to watch Griffin for years to come! Bailey Lear was a close second in the voting after running a new U.S. #1 55.01 in the 400m on Saturday. Her time now ranks U.S. # 2 behind Sammy Watson from NY.
