The 2015 Region 3-6A Mud Fest

Boys (Virtual Meet Preview)

Who:
    Teams:
Cy-Woods, Friendswood, Katy, Katy Seven Lakes, Katy Tompkins, Kingwood, Stratford
    Individuals:
Ryan Yerrow, Daniel Figueroa, Tyler Melebeck, Pablo Ponce, Worthington Moore, Alec Esposito, Devin Fahey, David Zavala
When: Saturday, October 29th, 10:20 - 10:
50

Why: This should be an outstanding race. There are about seven teams with a legitimate shot at the four qualifying spots. The District 19-6A teams battled last week and should also be looking to repeat that type of "season on the line" running.  Katy Tompkins took the surprise team victory over the favorite Katy with Seven Lakes not far behind. Kingwood and Stratford are both talented teams who should be factors. Kingwood comes from a very competitive former district/region and Stratford is used to running at the State 5A race.  Just know, these four team spots won't be given away, they'll have to be taken.

District 19-6A competitors run for thier berth to the Region 3-6A meet

The individual battle could have a pack of lead runners for most of the race. Ryan Yerrow has been the top Region 3 performer for most of the year. Daniel Figueroa topped Yerrow at their district meet.  Two other serious contenders to watch out for are Devin Fahey and Worthington Moore. Both runners are new to sRegion 3-6A, but are experienced and battle tested. Other front pack runners could consist of Tyler MelebeckPablo Ponce, Alec Esposito, and David Zavala. These guys have been in the lead pack for the majority of their races this season.

When: Saturday, October 29th, 10:20 - 10:50
Why: Again, this will be another hot team race. There is very little separation between these ladies, which means we should see some intense running from the start all of the way to the finish line.  All of these teams, at some time this season were ranked in the top ten and most still are. All of these teams have beaten one or another at some time throughout this season, which makes Saturday even more intriguing. Individually, there are some of Texas' top distance runners, including All Staters Julia Heymach and Reagan Kappel.

Heymach and Kappel battled at last year's State meet and will go head to head again Saturday
