Reed Brown, from Southlake Carroll, did what few runners can do. He ran his first 3200m of the season at the UIL 5-6A District Meet and won the race. From the start of the race, he and Alex Maier were neck and neck. They ran 1 and 2 the whole race. In the final 400m, Reed and Alex started switching back and forth for the #1 spot in the race, with Reed coming away victorious. Reed told us that he ran the race "relaxed the whole time (and) tried to coast it pretty smooth." Later today, Reed will be running in the 1600m race, facing off against Alex Maier again. The 5-6A district is one of the most competitive distance running districts in the state. We will have race videos from the 5-6A District Meet finals (excluding the 3200m) as well as photos and interviews, so make sure you keep it locked on MileSplit for everything Track.
