Cambria Clark runs at 2015 NXN South Region
In professional sports, there is free agency, trades, and a lot of General Manger type wheeling and dealing each season. In high school sports....at least in running, that isn't the case and it doesn't usually get that interesting. However, there are the occasional transfers that do happen from time to time. In this case, the strong just got stronger!
Preseason #22 individual CAMBRIA CLARK has transferred from Smithson Valley to Keller. Yes, #22 goes to #1 Keller. Clark's family moved to the Keller after the school year ended and lucky enough for her, the zoned school is pretty good at running. Clark is coming off her 18:29.39 run at the 2016 UIL 6A meet and an impressive track season that saw her go 2:17.83 for 800m, 5:05.18 for 1600m, and 11:16.04 for 3200m.
Clark is a legit stud runner and she joins a team full of other stud runners. Keller accomplished a few things themselves, last year. They won the 6A title and qualified for NXN. They return everybody and with the addition of Clark, so what already figured to be very good is now scary-very good.
On the other end of this is the school Clark moved away from - Smithson Valley. Not only did they just lose one of Texas' best runners this year, it comes of the heels of last season when they lost two other star runners. While still one of the top teams in Region IV and the San Antonio area, they will have to replace yet another talented runner.
For the meantime, I'd say Texas has to watch out as does the rest of the nation for the Keller Indians.
