3A Girls 100m 

Taylor Nunez, a junior from Universal City Randolph is the reigning gold medalist and has the fastest time coming into this race with a time of 11:63, she set the record in 2022 for the 3A UIL girls 100m with a time of 11:59.

The bronze medalist from last year was Breagan Blowers, a junior from Holliday and back this year to challenge for the gold medal.

The gun was up and the girls were called back, but they announced no disqualification. Once again the gun went up and it was called an unfair start and the girls were called back to the starting line after they ran half the race. Then it was announced they would delay the start of the Girls 3A 100m.

One more time on the starting line and it was a clean start with Nunez and Peyton Hunter, a sophomore from Gladewater battled it out until Nunez put it in another gear capturing the gold medal for the third time and a new meet record with a time of 11:46, Hunter received the silver with a time of 11:91 and Starrmia Dixon a junior from Diana New Diana finished in 3rd place with a time of 11:93.




3A Girls 400m

Yierra Flemmings a senior from Cameron Yoe was the three time gold medalist. and

Makki Hart, a senior from Shallowater was the silver medalist from last year coming into the race today from regionals with the fastest time of 54.81. Kamree Wolridge, a junior from Lexington was last year's bronze medalist..

They had a clean start with Hart taking a slight lead coming off the first turn but Wolridge wasn't ready to give up the fight and stepped on the gas from lane 9 to challenge and had the lead going into the final turn hoping for the upset.

Flemmings knew what she wanted and kicked it into another gear with 50m to go and carried that kick to the end for a perfect 4 year gold medal sweep and a new meet record with a time of 54:48. Wolridge finished in second with a time of 55:44 and Hart rounded out the top three with a time of 56:30.



3A Girls 200m

Lots of talent in this race to showcase the best of the 200's in 3A. Last year's gold medalist Starrmia Dixon a junior from Diana New Diana along with the fastest time coming out of regionals was Taylor Nunez a junior from Universal City Randolph with a time of 24.38.

All nine runners in this heat were within seconds of each other with their qualifying times.

Clean start for this anticipated race with Nunez making a statement and led the race from start to finish. She put a bow on this present as she pulled away from the rest of the heat coming down the homestretch like a rocket.

She was trying to break a 38 year old record of 23.44 but came up just a little short with a gold medal time of 23:48. Dixon finished in second place with a time of 24:50 and Breagan Blowers, a junior from Holliday came in third place with a time of 24:51.
