This meet hosted a lot of talented teams & athletes, feel free to comment below with other performances you believe should've made the list.

Boys

  • 1)Denton Ryan: Dominant in the relays, they have a shot at Regionals if they can repeat their performances at Area. Winning out in the 4x1&4x2, and using a big anchor on the 4x4 to nearly run under 4:17.
  • 4x100m: 41.94
  • 4x200m: 1:27.13
  • 4x400m: 4:17.28
  • 2) Bryce Douglas: Earning wins both hurdle events, Douglas is now adds his name to the mix of athletes who can make it Austin. He is on the verge of running sub-14s in the 110H, and running those times could turn him into a state medalist.
  • 110H: 14.08 - TX #12
  • 300H: 38.61
  • 3) Ian Braxton: While he is no stranger to 21s 200s, this is a big season best and near PR for Braxton who takes a big jump up the rankings. He hits this mark at the perfect time, as it will require equally fast times to make it out of Regionals.
  • 200m: 21.24 - TX #9
  • 4) Rhayko Schwartz: He adds yet another 47s 400m to his name, but he knows there is a lot of room for improvement as he aims to be running 46s. Also a big part of the Boyd 4x400m which will be running at Regionals.
  • 400m: 47.76
  • 4x400m: 3:16.92
  • 5) Jacob Suchors: Getting back into form, Suchors runs his best 800m time in 2015 and shows he has a lethal kick that any athlete needs to be wary of. Another loaded race with 5 athletes 1:57 or faster, which in most districts would certainly send you to Regionals.
  • 800m: 1:56.13

Girls

  • 1) Jhane King is a beast! She put together a very impressive triple at Texan stadium against tough competition. She will move on to Regionals where she will be the favorite in the 400m, but will have much tougher compeition in the shorter sprints.
  • 100m: 11.77 TX #12
  • 200m: 24.68
  • 400m: 55.45 TX #6
  • 2) Maddy Reed shows her diverse talents, taking charge in the 3200m & 1600m. She has the endurance to hang with the best in the longer race, and showed she has the kick to be very dangerous in the closing stages of the 1600m.
  • 1600m: 4:59.14 - 3rd sub-5 in 2015
  • 3200m: 10:38.70
  • 3) Aaliyah Miller: Many of the top athletes in the state will be running multiple events in the next few weeks, and Miller is no exception as she carries a heavy load tripling with the 800-400-4x400m.
  • 800m: 2:09.52 - Looking calm and in control the entire way, Miller ran to her 1st sub-2:10 800m of the season.
  • 400m: 56.66 - Miller didn't have to empty the tank in the 400m, and advanced easily to the next week.
  • 4x400m: 3:49.99 - The Boyd squad has been dropping PRs all season as they now dip under 3:50 for the 1st time and show they're ready to fight for the two spots at Regionals.
  • 4) Allen Girls: They showed they are ready to fight for every inch with impressive races in the 4x100m, and a big comeback to grab the 4x200m at the line. It will take an even bigger performance to move on to State, but they proved they're up to the challenge.
  • 4x100m: 47.96
  • 4x200m: 1:41.71
  • 5) Distance Depth: It comes as no surprise to see the number of quality distance runners assembled when looking at these teams, but still no less impressive. Fields like this bringing into question the qualifying process for Regionals...
  • 800m: 5 athletes 2:17 or faster
  • 1600m: 5 athletes 5:03 or faster. ALL in the state's Top-18.
  • 3200m: 4 athletes 10:50 or faster
